| Biography Born in Harrow, Middlesex, I was brought up with music all around me. My dad (Steve) was the source of this music, being a musician himself. However I made my first musical note in Weston-Super-Mare, Somerset. As a 7 year old child, "I'm bored" was the common phrase of my day, until my mam had heard enough and I was whisked off to piano lessons before I could say it again. This was where I started to learn my trade. (at the age of 7!) At the age of 9 we moved to Bedfordshire, were I took up the double bass, and was classically trained. I've been playing ever since. Now I can say I've reached a grade 8 standard, playing with orchestras regularly. I've performed at venues in Poland, Italy and most memorably the Royal Albert Hall (3 times!) I've played upright bass mainly in the classical scene but have also performed in jazz and blues bands playing all the standards. While learning to play the double bass, I was introduced to the electric bass and the acoustic guitar. I've played in various bands covering many styles; rock, metal, blues, country, soul, disco and funk. I'm also a drummer. I've been playing for roughly 3 and a bit years, and I took my first exam last November. I took grade 7 and passed with distinction. I'm currently playing drums with Heroes Can't Fly, a pop punk band writing original songs trying to get noticed. Musical Influences: Dave Grohl, Phil Lynott, Sting, John Bonham, Travis Barker, John Lennon, Miles Davis, Stevie Wonder and my Dad! |
