Biography

I was only six when I noticed my granny playing the piano in the parlour and thought "Yes I could do that ! ". So I listened to the Peter and Dud sketch - The Piano Teacher - in which they describe the finer points of playing the piano - the black notes play louder than the white - and I was away.

From an early age I was a natural and went on to play at the Dog and Duck in Hackney from where I was spotted and ended up resident at the "Starlight Rooms"in Enfield as part of a cabaret band backing the likes of Paul Daniels ,Ronnie Carroll and many other has beens. About the same time I played on many recording sessions at Sarm Studios in London including the hit "Blue is the Colour" the Chelsea football song - a moment I shall treasure forever. In the 1980's I got into music retail and gigged in the evening. In my spare time I worked as a freelance journalist for Music Maker Publications.

More recently I have been working with a female vocalist playing mostly in Casinos - she is now with child - nothing to do with me - and I am now enjoying my time as keyboard player with The Backline Band.
